Flying into Zante was the easiest process I have ever had for flying into a foreign country. The Sights out the plane window made you realize how beautiful this island is, even before you even land. Once you land you go through the very small airport to the rental car center, where the rental companies will be standing with signs to pick you up and bring you to your car. There are many car rental agencies on the island and at the airport directly, if you did not book one beforehand. 

From the airport it took us about 20 minutes to arrive at the hotel. Be sure to use the directions provided by Demargia for the last section, as google maps does not take you the best route.  If you’re not very comfortable driving a manual car, I would recommend renting one with higher horsepower or renting an automatic. 

Once you arrive at the villa, there is an accessible parking space with a shade cover, which is very nice for the 30+ degree days to keep your car cool.  After parking, you cross the road and enter a big beautiful villa, with two pools in the backyard.  The villas are easy to find and marked well on which one you have rented. Near the door there is a key box, which makes checking in very easy and flexible with your schedule. 

Because of our late check-in the stores were already closed upon our arrival , so we were very pleased that the villa was already stocked with water, fruit and juice in the fridge. This made our arrival a lot less stressful and we were able to relax right away.  There was even oil, salt and pepper provided for cooking which is always a nice addition while traveling without your spice cabinet.  

On Vacation it is normal to be out exploring the majority of the time and not spending the whole day inside, but with the island being so hot during the day the nice air-conditioned villa with a pool right outside was a very relaxing and simple holiday.  Waking up a cooking breakfast and lunch while laying by a pool we would wait for sunset to explore the little towns and cities nearby.
